Description
This panel will explore how adaptive reuse and social innovation can transform empty or underused buildings into affordable, community-oriented living spaces. Across Europe, a significant share of the built environment remains vacant or under-occupied. Repurposing, renovating, and creatively reactivating what already exists can meet housing demand while preserving social fabric and cultural heritage. The panel will highlight examples of mixed use, flat swapping, co-housing, and intergenerational living.
