Tokyo-born architect Shigeru Ban, a Pritzker Prize winner, graduated from Cooper Union. Founded Shigeru Ban Architects in 1985, with offices in Tokyo, Paris, and New York. A UNHCR consultant since 1995, he established NGO VAN for disaster relief. Awards include the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2014). Notable works: Centre Pompidou - Metz, Cardboard Cathedral, and La Seine Musicale. Serves as a special guest professor at Shibaura Institute of Technology.
