Federal Minister Klara Geywitz was born in 1976 in Potsdam. After graduating from high school, she studied political science at the University of Potsdam. She was a member of the Potsdam City Council from 1998 to 2013 and a member of the Brandenburg state parliament from 2004 to 2019. From August 2020 to December 2021, she worked as Head of Audit at the Brandenburg State Court of Audit. Since December 2021, Klara Geywitz is the German Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
