The teen choir from the Saint-Josse/Schaerbeek Arts Academy and the youth choir from the Forest Academy "The Teens in the Woods" performed together this year in Flagey during Academix, the great musical festival which brings together students from all Brussels academies. These 2 choirs are made up of singers who are between 12 and 18 years old. Directed by teachers Amélie Ramaekers and Joëlle Charlier, the goal is to support young people in the discovery of their voice, the work of listening, communicate to them the great pleasure of singing together, in all kinds of repertoires.
Concerning the purposes of the academies:
The mission of the academies is to promote student development through artistic practice. They provide the necessary resources so that the student becomes independent and can continue his practice beyond his academy career. Academies offer education that can prepare students who wish to access higher artistic education.
