NEB Catalogue of Blueprints for Affordable and Resilient Homes

The New European Bauhaus Catalogue is a practical learning tool that supports the delivery of more affordable, inclusive and resilient homes and neighbourhoods by mapping challenges, mechanisms and project responses.

The New European Bauhaus Catalogue of Blueprints for Affordable and Resilient Homes brings together a selection of 21 NEB-aligned housing projects from across Europe, showing how affordability and resilience can be addressed through design, governance, participation and place-based innovation.

Each project is presented as a conceptual “blueprint”, analysing their response to pre-existing environmental, social and economic contexts. Rather than offering fixed or standardized models to copy, the catalogue acknowledges the nuance of place and seeks to connect projects’ methodologies to their specific type of local conditions. In this way, future project implementers can target their attention to projects whose contexts best match their own, ultimately facilitating the transfer and replication of knowledge.

It is designed in collaboration with PDR at Cardiff Metropolitan University as a practical learning tool for public authorities, architects, designers, project developers and other actors working to deliver more affordable, inclusive and resilient homes and neighbourhoods.
By mapping challenges, mechanisms and project responses, it helps users explore how NEB values can be translated into concrete housing solutions

This first edition is a starting point. The catalogue is expected to grow over time under the stewardship of the NEB Lab on Affordable Housing, incorporating further high-quality examples and learning from across Europe.
