Karin Aschberger is deputy head of the Ocean and Water unit at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy. She coordinates scientific support for the EU Commission on the Water Resilience Strategy, Ocean Pact, Zero Pollution Action Plan and related legislation. Previously she led the JRC Exploratory Research Programme and worked as a regulatory toxicologist on chemicals, pesticides and nanomaterials.
