Description
This panel will consider how Europe can counteract the polarising influence of social media by developing ethical digital tools, transparent algorithms, and community-driven platforms that strengthen democratic participation. The challenge is to understand how digital platforms and AI systems are reshaping civic behaviour and social fabric. The panel will explore how designers, policymakers, technologists, and local communities can work together under the NEB to rebuild trust, digital well-being, and civic resilience.
Speaker:
- Léa Rogliano - Head of the Citizen Engagement Hub at FARI ,
- Carlo Ratti - Professor at MIT and Politecnico di Milano, founding partner of the architecture and innovation office CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and the director of the Senseable City Lab
