Sofia Vasilopoulou (PhD, LSE) researches political dissatisfaction with democracy and democratic institutions in Europe, focusing on legitimacy, accountability, and representation. She leads the ERC-funded INEQCHANGE project on ‘Sub-national economic inequalities and electoral change in Europe’, and is co-PI of the Horizon Europe EDGE project on ‘Enhancing Democratic Support under Conditions of Geographic and Intersectional Inequalities in Europe’.
