On Oct 27th 2023, the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists organizes the Award Ceremony of the Festa dell’Architetto Prize, one of the most important political-cultural moments for Italian Architects, Planners, Landascapers and Conservationists at Palazzo Brancaccio, in Rome - Italy.
The centenary of the founding of the ordained architect’s profession cannot just be an anniversary, but also an opportunity to talk, in the year of skills, about what knowledge and strategies the category must implement in order to intervene on the increasingly urgent environmental issues that have now reached an emergency level. In the last edition, we discussed how indispensable and urgent an intervention of the category is to invert the energy dynamics of the sector and how much we can contribute to the improvement of the social dynamics complexity through attention to people’s life space.
We emphasized the need to move from dealing with the problem to implementing solutions that address the issue of global warming from all points of view, and turn a crisis situation into an opportunity.
This year, on the centenary of the founding of the ordained profession and the European Year of Skills, architects will speak. We will take part in a discussion among colleagues from various European countries who will present different experiences and skills needed to face the environmental challenges. We will contribute by offering concrete proposals and awarding those who have distinguished themselves for the right approach in our profession, with competence and courage. We believe that also our country needs an Architecture Law to the advantage of the community.
