NEB Lab: Transformation of places of learning

This Commission-led NEB Lab project connects transformation initiatives, proof of concepts and practices making a difference in where and how people learn across Europe and beyond - from classrooms to streets, playgrounds, and libraries.

The project seeks to build a collaborative network and make places of learning that are aligned with the New European Bauhaus values more visible. The network is meant to become an accelerator for beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive places and ways of learning.  

Project milestones

  • 17 February - 31 December 2022: Call for applications open
  • As from May 2022: First applications published on the website, first acceleration opportunities organised
  • 5 October 2022: Education for Climate Day event
  • June 2023: New European Bauhaus Prizes with a focus on learning

Participation in the project

Individuals and organisations involved in education, training, informal learning or youth project(s) in Europe and beyond, are welcome to share their ongoing projects (started not longer than 2 years ago) or new transformative projects reflecting the values of the New European Bauhaus in the fields of education, training, youth and knowledge, aiming at the transformation of:

  • a physical place of education and knowledge
  • the ways of learning and/or the education and knowledge focus
  • the relationship with the local community
