Whether at home or away from it, the notion of the office is constantly evolving. Adapting to the demands and realities of the new century. ?️✒️

Fern, a recycled high-end office furniture collection from Paris, is sparking a conversation about workplace wellness, its transformation and impact on the environment.

With particular attention to textures and details, developed by deardesign studio, the furniture characterizes the second life of undesired materials and displays how each comes together for a new purpose.???‍?

Made from eco-responsible materials, the proposal from France, was one of many ideas submitted for the 2021 New European Bauhaus award prizes in the category of "Products and life style."

The collection emphasizes the ability of upcycled and repurposed organic materials to lessen ecological effects while also contributing to social and economic harmony.

With an eco-design and co-design mindset, Fern's strives to ensure an optimal user experience from the beginning to the end of the product's life. This is demonstrated by offering their customers the possibility of responsibly disposing of their old furniture by providing recycling, recovery, or second life solutions. ♻️?

The design endeavour minimizes raw natural materials by favouring repurposed, C2C certified products. It offers waste a second life, like in the case of MFD as a structural material. Based on the weight of materials used, e.g. one of the desks is 65.7% recycled (MDF & Durat®) + 34.1% recovered (steel and oak.

Fern's goal is to demonstrate the importance of collaborative ties between clients, designers, and craftspeople. It upholds the values of inclusivity, humanism, and sustainability, as well as its dedication to creating efficient, individualized items that offer balance to a resilient ecosystem. ?️?
