At Enorme Studio, our main work area consists of intervening existing spaces to rehabilitate them, enhance their use or improve their capabilities in terms of flexibility or habitability. Our design specializes in public space and participatory dynamics. In this sense, our research approaches the renovation of spaces with mobile solutions that generate more flexible situations.
Our installation for the Festival of the New European Bauhaus consists in a new equipment, habitable and mobile, which will try to respond to the most pressing challenges of the contemporary city. It is a meeting point between design and city, enhancing the relationship between citizens and public space. The urban furniture becomes the fundamental part of the initiative, where the user is the protagonist, creating a meeting, rest and disconnection point.
"The portable city" offers an opportunity to experiment through portable architecture, at street level and accessible to users. It is an urban innovation project that has a greenhouse, understood as a social laboratory where workshops are developed, and three pieces of urban furniture as stands that bring together many of the ideas with which to imagine the urban future of our cities: flexibility, portability, vegetation, community and participatory design.
