Jessika Roswall is the European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy. She leads the Commission's work on protecting the natural world and boosting the circular economy. Her portfolio includes prioritising the design of incentives for nature positive actions and private investment, working to facilitate public and private investment in technology and cross-border water infrastructure, contributing to the new Climate Adaptation Plan and the Vision for Agriculture and Food, and further developing the New European Bauhaus. Before joining the Commission in 2024, she served as Minister for European Union Affairs and Minister for Nordic Cooperation in the Swedish government. A student of history and law, she was first elected to parliament in Sweden in 2010.
