Using existing buildings more wisely for people and the planet

  • Conferences and summits

At a time when many European cities face rising housing shortages and affordability challenges, there is increasing interest in how the existing building stock can be used more efficiently. At the same time, construction and renovation remain highly resource- and carbon-intensive, highlighting the need for approaches prioritise better use of existing buildings, by renovating, adapting and repurposing vacant and under-used buildings into affordable housing.

Join this webinar on 27 May, exploring how practical initiatives and mobilising investment can support a more sustainable and socially responsive use of Europe’s buildings.

This satellite event of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus will bring together experts from the European Commission, researchers and practitioners working on policies and initiatives that promote a better use of existing buildings.
