Partners explained

What do partners do?

Partners may engage with the NEB initiative and Community by engaging in and/or supporting various types of activities (sometimes depending on the type of entity), for instance:

  • Acting as amplifiers of the NEB initiative, spread opportunities, learnings and policy updates through their channels to boost NEB activity on the ground;
  • Participating in dedicated Community consultations by providing specialised insights based on their unique practitioner perspectives;
  • Organising within the Community around collective priority topics and developing a team to propose and launch a NEB LAB;
  • Partners that represent businesses or public authorities may leverage their resources to host or sponsor NEBLab projects;
  • Establishing a Local Chapter —a decentralised physical hub focusing on the topic of the NEB from a more specialised perspective, at either the village/city, regional or national level;
  • Generally collaborating with citizens and institutions to achieve more beautiful, sustainable, inclusive living experiences;
  • many more activities are possible as long as they are concrete and contribute to achieving the objectives of the New European Bauhaus.

Please note that the partners’ commitments are not subject to financial support.

How to become a partner

  1. Commit to the values of the European Union and the guiding values and principles of the New European Bauhaus initiative. Candidates confirm their commitment in the initial part of the application.
  2. Introduce the applicant entity, specify primary fields of activity, geographic location and other descriptive information.
  3. Explain honestly and concretely the motivation for joining the NEB Community. This includes describing alignment with the initiative and expectations for engagement. The quality and detail of the responses in this section play an important role in determining eligibility. They should also be consistent with the general description of the entity or ensure to draw the necessary links if the entity is less NEB aligned by default. As long as an entity can demonstrate precisely how they intend to take up the NEB values and principles, they do not need to be fully NEB-aligned from the start.
  4. Acceptance & public display of information
    If the application is successful, the entity becomes a New European Bauhaus Partner and the logo and commitment provided in the application become public on the official website. A more detailed description of the entity’s activities and contact information also provided in the application get published on the private Community platform, open only to Community members.
